History of the Department
The scientific department has existed as an integral part of the higher educational institution since its establishment. Until 2011, there were 3 departments on the basis of the current department - master's, postgraduate, and scientific. Since 2012, all departments have been optimized as Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel Departments. During the years of independence, many innovative and practical grants have been implemented within the framework of state scientific and technical programs. During the years of independence, a number of specialists, such as Malikova Lobar, Boyturaev Tuychiboy, Aripov Yunus, and Shopulatov Abdimalik Nurulloyevich, held leadership positions in the scientific department. In 2024, the department was renamed "Department of Scientific Research, Innovation and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel."
The purpose of the department:
The Department of Scientific Research, Innovation and Training of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees, resolutions and orders of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Education," "On Physical Culture and Sports," "On Science and Scientific Activity," orders of the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Higher Attestation Commission, the Charter of the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports, as well as this charter. In the activities of the Department of Scientific and Pedagogical Personnel Training at the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sports, along with ensuring the implementation of the orders of the rector of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports, the university carries out activities for the development of fundamental, applied, and innovative research, the implementation of state scientific and technical programs and priority areas of science and technology, the coordination of innovative cooperation between higher education, science, and production, and the organization of research in priority, promising, and advanced scientific areas.
The tasks of the department are:
Conducting work in the Department on the basis of current regulatory legal acts, as well as organizing work using modern technologies.
To fulfill the tasks assigned to it, the Department performs the following functions:
• to develop the experience of university professors and teachers in organizing research work and to organize the necessary social and production conditions in the field of physical culture and sports for their full and effective use;
• development of the strategy and tactics of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the high-quality functioning of the system of physical culture and sports;
• organization and increasing the effectiveness of fundamental, applied, innovative, targeted, and proactive scientific research. Development of scientific research within the framework of training scientific and pedagogical personnel and education;
• development of sports within the framework of science based on scientific research, creation of a competitive environment, development of scientific services;
• drawing up annual and long-term plans for planned research work in university departments, scientific laboratories, and departments, organizing their implementation, providing appropriate practical and methodological assistance, and monitoring the preparation of reports in accordance with established procedures;
• Admission to doctoral studies (DSc) and basic doctoral studies (PhD), development and implementation of a strategy for staffing departments with academic degrees;
• development of plans for holding international and republican scientific conferences and seminars with the participation of faculty and talented students at the university and ensuring their high-level conduct;
• development and implementation of a plan for the publication of monographs, articles, and conference materials based on the results of scientific research;
• expansion and development of cooperation with international scientific organizations;
• development of the mentor-student system and scientific schools in the training of young researchers and athletes;
• promoting the implementation of innovations aimed at the development and implementation of technically and technologically new or improved products (works and services) in sports.
